AzzaMods is closing - thank you for everything
Hi everyone,
AzzaMods will be closing on June 30th 2026. All active premium subscribers after that date will be refunded on a pro-rata basis for any remaining premium time. You don't need to do anything, we'll handle it automatically.
It's Ashley (Ash47), the creator and lead developer of AzzaMods. I was mostly behind the scenes, building the platform, working on the more technical side of things, and listening to everything you had to say. Your suggestions shaped what AzzaMods became. I wasn't always the face of things but I was always there.
I wrote my first mod back in 2001 when I was 7 years old. I'd gotten access to an old Mac and it had some games like Spelunx that were written in a language called HyperCard. The code was available and editable so I was able to poke around, make changes and essentially make my first mods.
I didn't have access to the internet, tutorials, YouTube or ai, so, I either figured out how to do it myself, or don't do it at all. Figuring things out myself is a skill that has stayed with me my entire life.
I'm a huge Plants vs Zombies fan, so when the same developer released a new game called Octogeddon, I had to play it. Then I had to mod it. I spent weeks reverse engineering the file formats, made a bunch of videos, and somewhere in there a collaboration formed around a YouTube channel called AzzaFortysix. As the mods grew, so did the channel, and between the two of us we kept everything running. Some of those videos ended up getting millions of views.
From there I found myself deep in They Are Billions, building a level editor that let people create their own levels and documenting it on YouTube. I even discovered a Chinese community using it and we translated it together. Very cool experience.
Feed and Grow Fish is where AzzaMods was actually born. I made some mods, tried teaching people via tutorials, that was too complex, built a mod menu, still too complex, so I built an app that did everything automatically. That's how AzzaMods came to be.
I've received a ton of kind messages throughout the years, from kids, from parents, from adults who just wanted to say thank you. I appreciate every kind word and honest piece of feedback I've gotten from each and every one of you. I save my favourite messages in something I call my "Cookie Jar", and if I ever feel down, I grab some out and it never fails to make me smile.
It does feel strange looking back, originally I was scared to make YouTube videos, to put my voice out there. It wasn't easy to record myself talking and upload something. My confidence grew over time and eventually I felt comfortable enough to live stream.
Playing Minecraft, Roblox and other games with you guys live on YouTube over the years is one of my fondest memories of AzzaMods. I still have the Minecraft world we created together and it's something I think about regularly.
There are circumstances behind this decision that I'm not able to speak to openly right now, and I'm genuinely sorry for that. This community has been loyal and kind and you deserved more transparency than I've been able to give.
Thank you. For every download, every request, every stream, every comment and especially for every message in my cookie jar. It meant more than you know.
